Bethany’s Story
Bethany’s musical life began in the small wooden pews of her coastal New England church, singing hymns and Christian contemporary music. It spread to worship leading and musical theater in high school, when she fell in love with the arts community and multi-disciplinary artistic works. Finally, it landed at the University of New Hampshire where she devoted four years to the study of music, the human voice, and the human mind.
Bethany is a certified Music Together teacher, she spent college weekends singing and dancing with littles and their moms, watching as their love for music sprouted and grew. Bethany has a passion for working with older adults - she has experience in direct care, activities, and music specific engagement and research with older adults from independent to skilled nursing levels of need. While in school, Bethany received specific training in vocal pedagogy, teaching young voices, and taught voice lessons on the side. The common thread through all of this is an appreciation for the human voice - how it functions and the way it empowers us to experience music and create music experiences for the people we love most.
North Hope was born from these experiences, inspired by incredible mentors, teachers, and supervisors along the way, and established thanks to her supportive family.
